Ice Pick Challenge

Three years ago I was at an appointment with a Pain Specialist for a cortisone injection in my shoulder area, a procedure that I had on two previous occasions. I was asked to lay on the table on my stomach and wait for the Doctor. The procedure was started and the next thing I remember was a pain so excruciating in my chest I let out a scream. Then the right side of my body was paralyzed. When I was taken to the ER the Resident Doctor described the pain I experienced as an ice pick going thru my back and existing thru my chest! The pain Specialist had punctured my spine. After rehab and reacquainting my body to simple tasks like walking, eating and writing, I am left with chronic pain and burning in my chest, back and upper legs, plus roaming pain throughout my body. I have exhausted the medical community in looking for relief. The only remedy they suggest is prescription drugs that will alleviate some pain and leave you in a brain fog. I do not want to live in a fog so I choose to cope with exercise, meditation and mind over matter attitude but it does take its toil on quality of life and enjoying what life has to offer
